POK-E is a concept that tackles everyday food waste by making it easier and safer to determine whether food is still good to consume. Instead of relying only on expiration dates or guesswork, the project combines technology and intuitive design to support more confident, informed decisions in the kitchen.

Many people feel unsure about trusting their senses, yet detailed scientific data can feel overwhelming. POK-E bridges that gap by collecting relevant freshness indicators and translating them into clear, understandable feedback. Encouraging less waste through better awareness.

The device analyzes food using sensor technology that detects indicators associated with spoilage. The so called E-Nose. It gathers key data quickly and simplifies the testing process through an intuitive interface, making it practical for everyday use. Frequently tested items can be saved to speed up future checks.

The companion app presents the collected data in a clear and accessible way. Instead of displaying complex technical values, it translates results into actionable insights. It also allows users to save tests, explore additional information about food freshness, and receive suggestions on how to use ingredients before they go to waste.
